This might be one of my favorite collections of the season. Julian Klausner’s first women’s Spring 2026 at Dries Van Noten is pure joy. The colors are alive; they are bright, bold, and endlessly playful. Every piece bursts with energy and optimism. Patterns feel effortless yet precise, and the fabrics are gorgeous, from fluid silks to structured neoprene and duchesse satin.
The collection was inspired by the elegance of surfers and the simple majesty of waves. Klausner translated that into clothes that balance structure and fluidity: narrow Bermudas paired with raglan-shouldered tops, tailored jackets with diaphanous skirts, and lace or beaded skirts layered over casual basics. He plays with contrasts everywhere — stiff versus soft, historical references versus modern cuts, restrained shapes against bold graphic prints. The result feels rarely fresh.
The palette is electric: hot pinks, lime greens, vivid blues, tangerine, and coral dominate, sometimes clashing in ways that somehow just work. Accessories and sneakers echo this playful energy, while jewelry clusters like shells on the beach add small, whimsical touches. Even the tailoring featured in bombers, jacquard jackets, satin cummerbunds, they all carry a sense of relaxed precision.
This collection isn’t just beautiful; it’s an attitude. It’s about joy, freedom, and optimism in dressing. Klausner has taken the Dries Van Noten DNA and infused it with sheer exuberance.
