A celebration of flowers! This collection set out to replicate the delicate details and blooming beauty of nature’s prettiest.’ Monsieur Dior himself was famously an avid gardener and often was inspired by flowers while making his clothes. John Galliano loyally carries on the heritage with the right about of drama. Color was a defining element here; evident in the statement color blocking and striking dégradé techniques. This bouquet of clothes included some striking bright skirt suits, ruffled skirts, intricate tiny-waisted jackets and sweeping tulle gowns. Each garment rich in texture again represents the diverse characteristics of a garden. Pat McGrath did the colorful graphic box-shaped eyeliner and Stephen Jones did the headwear – colorful plastic wraps reminiscent of the florist’s arrangements. The collection closed with kaleidoscopic theatrical gowns; layered in tulle, covered in colors and drenched in glamour. Even flowers are more enchanting at Dior Couture
