“Women’s obsessions, and flowers that bloom at night,” Sarah Burton cited her references. This was one of the more traditionally feminine collections by McQueen with some incredible craftsmanship. The collection opened with some fur decorated sharply tailored coats with some hand-painted Salvador Dali esque motifs. A fairytale-like whimsical energy took over resulting in some dreamy clothes. There were some lingerie like delicate mini dresses featuring bare shoulders, tiered ruffles, laser cut pleats, leather corsets, crystal brooches and some dainty lacework. The eveningwear boasted of sheer gowns with intricate colorful sequined and detailed beadwork featuring unicorns, swans, birds and flowers. Couture-level craftsmanship was persistent throughout the collection. The collection closed with 3 magnificent blanket jackets dripping in some lux fur. Undeniably one of Burton’s best!
