If you have been following me even for a day you might have understood by love for extravagant, glamorous, and over-the-top fashion. Christian Lacroix is exactly all that and even more. This was his last collection and I can only imagine what it must have been like. Sometimes it’s annoying that major moments in fashion have happened before I was like 8 years old.

The colors for this collection were limited get glorious, all of the looks were black and shades of dark blue. There were two cape-like dresses one in black and one in dark grim blue, constructed beautifully indeed. Then we saw some stunning short skirts, one black sheer- embellished paired with a violet coat with a bow for a button stood out. A few extravagant peplum coats came before a black lace dress with a white tulle shoulder wrap-around. Some more elegant evening wear looks in black, a beautiful strapless black and blue dress appeared with exquisite embroidery and embellishments followed another beauty. A skirt made up of layers of black laced material and a mesmerizing midnight blue material, the top was all black with lace around the shoulders and the chest, a big white bow on the side completed the look in a classic Lacroix way. The final bridal look was undoubtedly one of the most extravagant ever. A stunning satin dress with generous lace on the side with a headdress with intricate gold detailing along in the dress, there were colorful roses on the shoulders and the wrists as well. This is definitely one of the most memorable Lacroix collections and I will forever be obsessed with the bridal look.

A wonderful collection by Monsieur Lacroix and one to be cherished for a long time to come, I would love to see more of his work. I’ve always been so fascinated by him and never got to experience him in real-time I suppose apart from this collaboration with Dries Van Noten for Spring-Summer 2020 which again was magnificent.
