| Tokyo | Japanese avant-garde and street culture |
| Seoul | K-fashion and K-pop influence |

What are the main fashion weeks in India?
- Lakmé Fashion Week, held in Mumbai since 1999 and now run in partnership with the Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI)
- India Couture Week, the FDCI’s showcase of bridal and couture in Delhi
- FDCI’s ready-to-wear and men’s weeks, for emerging and established labels
India’s fashion weeks are dominated by bridal, couture and craft-led design, from embroidery to handloom, which makes them very different from the European ready-to-wear calendar.

Why do smaller fashion weeks matter?
They give local designers a platform without the cost of Paris, test new ideas such as Copenhagen’s sustainability rules, and increasingly feed talent and trends back into the Big Four.
