Titled “Creating, Allowing,” the collection leaned into the idea that design does not always need to control everything. Sometimes the best results come when the garment is allowed to exist freely once it leaves the designer’s hands. The show had a quiet, almost meditative pace. Abstract sounds filled the space as models walked across a floor covered in shimmering sand, gradually shifting under their steps. It set the tone for a collection that felt calm, focused, and deeply considered.
What stood out immediately was how cohesive everything felt. The clothes were simple, clean, and structured, yet still playful through texture and color. Rich jewel tones like oxblood, lemon, and deep orchid brought life to the otherwise restrained palette of black, grey, and white. The balance between strong structure and soft movement ran throughout the lineup.
Some of the most striking pieces were the bustiers and corset-like bodices made from layers of glued paper, lacquered by artisans in Kyoto. Their glossy, sculptural surfaces framed the body in a way that felt both futuristic and slightly nostalgic, quietly nodding to earlier experiments in Miyake’s history. They added a bold focal point to looks that otherwise felt very wearable.
The textures were just as compelling. Pleated garments rippled like coral or fossils, knits formed broad shoulders, and coats appeared almost papery in structure. At times the silhouettes pushed into more conceptual territory, including unusual knit constructions or asymmetrical trousers, but many pieces still felt like things you could genuinely imagine in your closet.
