This collection had that dreamy Chloé energy, but it never slipped into something overly delicate or fragile. Instead, the collection felt confident, romantic, and alive.
Chemena Kamali drew inspiration from folk traditions and community craft, looking at historical Dutch costumes and the idea of garments passed down through generations. But visually, the runway felt closer to a poetic late 70s world. Think the spirit of Joni Mitchell and the theatrical femininity of Kate Bush, mixed with echoes of Karl Lagerfeld’s past work for the house. The result was nostalgic but still fresh.
The silhouettes were flowing and layered, often built around tiered and ruffled skirts that moved beautifully on the runway. Many looks featured airy mousseline dresses, faded checks, and soft floral prints that gave the collection its prairie-inspired mood. Some of the standout pieces were the solid-colored, floaty gowns that felt light and effortless but still striking. They quietly became the heroes of the show.
Layering played a huge role. Sweeping capes, oversized outerwear, and structured jackets were placed over sheer dresses and voluminous skirts, creating a strong contrast between softness and structure. The styling really elevated everything. Loose hair, dramatic beauty looks, and boots ranging from Western styles to thigh-high Musketeer versions added a sense of attitude to the romantic silhouettes.
Craft was clearly at the heart of the collection. Embroidery, knits, and hand-worked details highlighted the human side of fashion, something Kamali seems very interested in protecting in an era dominated by speed and technology. What made the show work so well was the balance. The result felt romantic but powerful. These were not fragile prairie girls. They looked free, expressive, and completely in control.
