This Zuhair Murad collection was a more controlled version of what the designer usually does best. The signature glamour was still there, but this time it arrived with a bit more restraint, which actually made many of the pieces feel even more striking.

Murad looked to the paintings of Giovanni Boldini, the Belle Époque portraitist known for capturing society women in sweeping, fluid motion. That sense of movement translated beautifully into the collection. Fabrics like chiffon, satin, and burnout velvet were chosen for the way they catch the light and move with the body. Dresses seemed almost mid swirl, as if they had stepped straight out of one of Boldini’s portraits.

What stood out most was the balance between structure and softness. Architectural tailoring appeared in jackets and corsetry, creating sharp silhouettes and defined waists. At the same time, airy fabrics and flowing drapes softened the look, giving the collection a romantic energy without feeling overly dramatic. Murad’s draping was particularly gorgeous this season, adding movement and elegance to many of the evening looks.

Compared to a typical Zuhair Murad collection, the embellishment felt noticeably more subtle. There were still sequins, lace, feathers, and embroidery, but they were used with a lighter touch. Instead of overwhelming the garments, these details highlighted them. A chandelier like embroidered cropped top paired with a long black skirt, floral appliqués on tailored pieces, and delicate feather accents at cuffs or bustlines added just enough sparkle.

The color palette leaned toward rich but controlled tones like burgundy, rust, and deep purple, which grounded the collection nicely. Meanwhile, standout pieces like an oxblood dress with a built in scarf detail, sleek satin midi dresses, and sculpted bustier gowns proved that Murad still knows how to deliver beautiful eveningwear.
