This Moschino collection by Adrian Appiolaza felt like a playful return to what makes the brand so recognizable. At its core, this show was really about the bags. They stole the spotlight almost immediately.
Moschino has always had a reputation for humor and visual jokes, and this season leaned heavily into that tradition. Accessories came shaped like bags of churros, potted cacti, piggy banks, and even horse saddles. They were strange, clever, and very Moschino. It was the kind of detail that reminds you how much fun fashion can be when it doesn’t take itself too seriously.
The collection was also deeply personal for Appiolaza. Drawing from his Argentine roots, he filled the runway with references to Buenos Aires culture. There were gaucho-inspired pieces, football fan imagery, and nods to the beloved cartoon character Mafalda. A pixelated print of Eva Perón appeared as well, tying the show back to the country’s cultural history.
Even with all the visual jokes and theatrical accessories, some garments stood out on their own. A soft dress printed with horse heads had a quiet elegance. Billowy gaucho trousers paired with a sharply tailored waistcoat felt thoughtful and well balanced. Chunky sweaters worn inside-out added texture, while a sharply cut jacket with 1940s-inspired lines showed strong tailoring.
What made the collection interesting was that it wasn’t just about humor. Some looks felt surprisingly thoughtful, almost intellectual in how references were layered together. The storytelling ran deeper than the accessories alone. This collection reminded everyone that Moschino works best when it embraces its sense of fun.
