Fausto Puglisi’s vision feels like a continuation of something he has been steadily building. The foundation is already strong, and this season he simply sharpened it. The result is a collection that feels confident, sexy, and very Italian. Black dominated the runway. Not just as a color choice but as a mood. Puglisi explored many versions of it through texture and shape. Croc-embossed leather jackets, glossy trousers, lace dresses, and velvet gowns all played their part. Even the opening look, a black leather pantsuit paired with a spangled bra top, immediately set the tone. It felt bold but controlled.

There was a vintage kind of sexiness running through the collection. At times it even hinted at that glamorous, high-octane energy people often associate with classic Italian fashion houses. Short lace dresses with crisscross backs, sequin-covered mini dresses, and silky gowns with long pleated sleeves all leaned into that retro sensuality. It felt confident without trying too hard.

Puglisi also pulled inspiration from unexpected places. The dramatic spirit of Italian muse Marchesa Luisa Casati shaped the jet-black palette and theatrical mood. At the same time, the designer imagined a contrast between American practicality and Cavalli’s usual hedonistic glamour. You could see this mix in pieces like the boyish-cut leather suit or the ballerina-style tutu skirt styled with pointed loafers.

The textures were key. Leather, lace, chiffon, and velvet created a layered richness that kept the mostly black lineup interesting. Cavalli’s love for animal imagery appeared in a softer way too, like the photographic silver fox print floating across chiffon dresses.

Color appeared only briefly. Embroidered floral dresses and painted denim brought moments of brightness, but they quickly faded back into black. Still, those flashes helped break the darkness.
