Etro delivered a collection that slowly unfolded from restraint into full-on maximalist fantasy. Under the direction of Marco De Vincenzo, the show felt like a journey, moving from structured tailoring to something much freer, more decorative, and honestly very fun to watch.

The opening looks were surprisingly controlled. Sharp coats, tailored silhouettes, and menswear-inspired pieces gave the first part of the collection a slightly serious tone. Military-style coats, peacoats, and tartan scarves tied at the waist introduced a subtle British influence. Even within this restraint, there was a hint of playful rebellion, like scarves threaded through jackets and small styling twists that kept things interesting.

Then the mood started to loosen. Silhouettes softened, fabrics became lighter, and the clothes began to move more freely. Sheer layers, body-skimming dresses, and flowing pieces brought a sense of airiness to the runway. This is where the craftsmanship really stood out. The fabrics, transparencies, and textures showed the level of skill Etro is known for.

From there, the collection leaned fully into its maximalist side. Sequins shimmered, feathers appeared on skirts and stoles, and exaggerated wool “furs” added wild texture. Paisleys, stripes, and vibrant patterns returned with confidence, building toward a joyful finale. The final looks were pure spectacle. Crochet dresses embroidered with small creatures, cascading sequins, and feathered details created pieces that sparkled under the lights and felt ready for the red carpet.

What made the collection work so well was its balance. It respected Etro’s heritage while still pushing forward. Everything flowed, shimmered, and layered beautifully. And unexpectedly, it ended up being one of the collections I enjoyed the most.
