This Bora Aksu collection was inspired by Sukie, an 18th century barmaid whose tragic story has lingered in local legend for centuries. Aksu even stayed in the room where she supposedly once lived, tracing her final journey through the nearby Hellfire Caves. That sense of mystery hung quietly over the entire show.

The collection unfolded almost like two chapters. The first imagined Sukie’s everyday life, with looks that nodded to historical workwear but still felt very much like Aksu’s world. There were crystal-dusted short suits, check wool skirt-trousers, martial-style jackets, and velvet puffers tied with ribbons. Even in these more grounded pieces, there was softness. Sheer fabrics peeked through tailored shapes, creating that delicate tension Aksu does so well.

Then things became dreamier. As the story shifted toward Sukie’s ghostly presence, the clothes followed. Polka dot gowns with ruffled layers, puff sleeve dresses, and lace topped silhouettes floated down the runway. The sheer play throughout the collection really stood out. Transparent tulle, gossamer capelets, and airy lace layers gave many of the dresses a weightless quality, like they could drift away at any moment.

The crochet work was another highlight. Small details like blood red crochet poppies blooming across a black dresses which was also a favourite look. If anything, the color palette could have felt slightly more focused.

And then came the closing looks. A series of white dresses in silk organza and lace that felt almost bridal, soft and ethereal in the most beautiful way. The kind of dresses you instantly want to run away in. Dreamy, romantic, and surprisingly wearable. Exactly the space Bora Aksu knows how to inhabit.
