Richard Quinn continues to hold a very specific space at London Fashion Week. Quinn remains devoted to something far more classic: beautiful gowns for women with somewhere important to be.
His Fall 2026 collection leaned fully into that idea. The show opened with a series of black and white looks before slowly introducing richer shades of red, fuchsia, and soft pastels. The color palette was honestly stunning. Those bright pops felt almost delicious against the darker gowns, giving the collection a sense of progression without breaking its overall mood.
Silhouette played a huge role this season. Corseted bodices, strapless bustiers, and sharply defined waists created sculpted hourglass shapes, while crinoline skirts and layered tulle added dramatic volume. Some gowns flowed into mermaid tails, others expanded into wide, structured skirts that felt almost couture in their construction. Quinn clearly understands how to make a gown feel grand without letting it look messy.
The craftsmanship was one of the strongest elements throughout the collection. Crystal brooches acted almost like built-in jewelry, fastening necklines and cinching waists. Floral details appeared everywhere, sometimes as dense prints, sometimes as delicate embroidered garlands. Velvet fabrics absorbed the light while satin and crystals reflected it, creating a beautiful contrast across the runway.
There is something slightly avant-garde about the scale of some silhouettes, but the inspiration remains rooted in vintage glamour. The collection felt like a polished mix of old Hollywood fantasy and classic couture references from the mid to late twentieth century.
At the same time, the aesthetic is very familiar for Quinn. If someone told me this show was from three years ago, I probably would not question it. But that consistency also feels like part of his identity. Quinn is not trying to reinvent himself every season. He is simply making really gorgeous gowns
