Titled Multifarious, unfolded inside the Claridge’s Hotel ballroom in London, and true to form, it felt more like theatre than a typical runway show. Reed has always leaned into spectacle, The show opened with a striking moment: four brides walking through the room in flowing veils of magenta, cerulean, seafoam, and rose.

This marked the debut of Reed’s Fluid Bridal line, and it set the tone immediately. The pieces played with romance and fantasy, but in a way that still felt modern. One standout was a Chantilly lace look inspired by the first wedding dress Reed created for Camille Charrière. Another paired a crystal-dusted cowl neck top with flared trousers, referencing what Reed himself wore on his wedding day. Even the more theatrical fishtail gowns had a softness to them.

Beyond bridal, the collection explored Reed’s idea of maximalism as character building rather than excess. Sculptural silhouettes remained the core of the show. Pannier hips, dramatic corsetry, and face-framing collars created those unmistakable hourglass shapes Reed does so well. The colors felt rich and luxurious, with burnt cobalt velvets, pink jacquards, and gold quilting adding depth and texture. Feathers, devoré fabrics, and tiger print mélanges gave the collection a slightly feral edge that balanced the romance.

What stood out most was how desirable the clothes felt. Reed’s work often gets labeled as costume, but that criticism feels a bit lazy. Yes, there is drama, and plenty of it. But there was also thoughtful tailoring this season. Laced-back suits, open-back jackets, and fluid slip dresses softened the bigger silhouettes and made the fantasy feel more wearable.

Overall, this was a strong outing. The romantic gothic mood, the craftsmanship, and the bold silhouettes all came together in a way that felt fun. And I love some fun.
