Rick Owens’ Spring/Summer 2026 women’s collection, Temple, was a masterclass in contrast and nuance. At first glance, his clothes might seem uniform to the untrained eye, but the details reveal something almost obsessive in their precision. This outing felt slightly more feminine than some of his past work, while still maintaining his signature dark, architectural edge. Each piece has that must-have quality, looks that instantly elevate your wardrobe with subtle, high-fashion points.
The show itself, staged at the Palais de Tokyo, played with spectacle in Owens’ inimitable way. Models waded through ankle-deep water, their eyes hidden behind black contacts, while the soundtrack of Grace Slick’s Somebody to Love punctuated the drama. Sheer layers, draped dresses, and geometric seams demonstrated Owens’ blend of delicacy and steeliness. Industrial materials—leather, rubber, nylon—contrasted fluid chiffons and tulle, creating a dialogue between tension and tenderness. Sculptural shoulders, bondage trousers, and ruched platform boots extended silhouettes to impossible proportions, while intricate embroidery and hand-drawn star charts added an intimate, personal layer to the collection.
Owens’ approach is as cerebral as it is visceral. What some might perceive as darkness is, to those attuned to his vision, high-octane and meticulously controlled. The collection embodies tenacity: a persistence in craftsmanship and theatricality, all while reflecting the challenging mood of today’s world.
