Julien Dossena’s Rabanne Spring 2026 felt like a postcard from summer: genuinely joyful. Right away you could tell this was meant to cheer people up. The clothes had wit and intelligence, and most of the time that playful energy landed beautifully. The seas of sunlit pastels, metallic sparkle, and quirky prints made for a collection that looked like fun to wear.
The strongest pieces were simple and inventive. Flippy skirts, halter tops that nodded to 1950s swimwear, and those scuba sunglasses were all charming and very well thought out. Textures and craft were highlights. Metal underskirts and crystal embroidery gave certain looks a couture edge, while the rubber flowers and palm fringes on shoes added a delightful, tactile detail. Styling felt confident and slightly over the top in the best way. Even when some looks piled on too many elements, it read as exuberant rather than messy.
There were moments that felt pushed, where decoration competed with shape. A few layered outfits tried to do too much, and the metallic ruffles occasionally crowded better ideas. Still, that small excess was part of the collection’s personality. Rabanne under Dossena is not trying to be for everyone. It is unabashedly overdone, sometimes baroque, and mostly irresistible if you like a dash of theatricality with your wardrobe.
What stuck with me was how the clothes made you feel. They were jaunty, overstyled in a deliberately happy way, and full of charming details that surprise you on second look.
