Kim Bekker’s Spring 2026 debut as creative director for Isabel Marant was a masterclass in effortless, wanderlust-infused style. The collection paid tribute to Marant’s iconic ‘Cool French Girl’ aesthetic while carving out Bekker’s own vision: sun-soaked, texture-rich, and perfectly wearable. From the very first look, a patched overshirt layered over pocketed cargos, the mood was set for a nomadic, desert-bound journey, with each outfit evoking ease, practicality, and quiet sophistication.

Bekker’s mastery of layering and texture was evident throughout. Suede, lace, and leather were blended with intricate patchwork and subtle embroidery, creating a tactile richness that elevated otherwise simple silhouettes. Classic Marant staples with blousons, cargo pants, slouchy boots, and army jackets were updated with a weathered palette of cream, sand, khaki, bronze, and black, evoking both travel-worn authenticity and refined French style. Details such as double-layered zippers, tassels, beaded fringes, and sun-bleached finishes added depth without overshadowing the inherent wearability of the collection.

Accessories, from crescent-moon suede bags to backpacks and lace-up moccasins, reinforced the sense of movement and adventure. Dresses, whether featherlight crochet, asymmetric ruffles, or sheer off-the-shoulder styles flowed naturally, making the wardrobe feel as much lived-in as aspirational.
