Yohji Yamamoto’s Spring 2026 show felt like watching time breathe. Held inside the grand Hôtel de Ville, the collection unfolded slowly and deliberately, as if to remind us that true beauty doesn’t rush. Yamamoto reminded us that consistency and depth are their own form of rebellion.

The collection opened with austere black dresses brushed with streaks of white, like moving ink drawings. Every fold, knot, and pleat seemed intentional, each one shaping the air around it. Then came tartan, softly rebellious and reworked in Yamamoto’s quiet way, followed by whisper-light whites that seemed to dissolve as they moved. The closing looks featuring deep reds that broke through the monochrome calm—carried emotional weight, especially the recreation of his 1985 bustle coat. That moment felt like a bridge between his past and present.

Amid all this artistry was a tender tribute to Giorgio Armani. Two looks honored the late designer with calligraphy and archival imagery, a beautiful gesture of respect between two legends who shared a love for precision, discipline, and grace.
