Stella McCartney’s Spring 2026 collection felt like a celebration of both creativity and conscience. At its heart was a commitment to sustainability and innovation, from denim that purifies the air to Fevvers, her plant-based feather alternative. These elements weren’t just impressive for their ethics, they moved beautifully on the runway, particularly in the feathered column dress that closed the show.

The mood of the collection was unapologetically 80s, with bold corporate power shoulders, wide-leg trousers, and sharp suiting, yet it also embraced softness and femininity. There were sculptural drapes, peplum shirts over utility pants, and flowing midis that created a playful contrast with the strong tailoring. Color played a role too, with sky blue, mimosa yellow, and peony prints adding bursts of energy to a neutral base of tans and greys.

While the collection had standout looks that were undeniably striking, cohesion was sometimes missing. The juxtaposition of extremes with oversized jackets with delicate dresses, sequined embellishments with slouchy jeans, made the show feel a bit scattered, though in a way that felt intentional, reflecting McCartney’s dual themes.
