Can Daniel Roseberry even put out a collection that isn’t good? Once again, he gave us something breathtaking with pieces that felt unreal but made you want to reach out and touch them. Schiaparelli’s Spring 2026 show at the Centre Pompidou was more than fashion; it was an experience, somewhere between a dream and an exhibit.
Titled Dancer in the Dark, the collection captured Roseberry’s fascination with inspiration over entertainment. He wanted this show to feel like a visit to a museum, a moment of stillness in a world that moves too fast. The result was strikingly beautiful and emotionally charged. Clean lines, sculptural tailoring, and surreal details made every look feel alive. There was a skirt suit made entirely of 6,000 paintbrushes and glowing “salt lamp” jewels that seemed to pulse with their own light.
The Salvador Dalí references ran deep, from melting bag shapes to bias-cut gowns inspired by the 1938 Tears Dress. But nothing felt like mere nostalgia. Roseberry turned surrealism into something tactile and wearable, keeping the tension between art and fashion that Elsa Schiaparelli herself mastered.
He called it “extreme wearability,” but that doesn’t mean simple. This was Schiaparelli at its best: mysterious, sensual, and full of imagination. Roseberry continues to blur the line between couture and ready-to-wear, creating clothes that live somewhere between reality and fantasy.
