There was a quiet beauty to Giorgio Armani’s final Emporio Armani collection, one that felt simple, cozy, and regal all at once. The show carried a weight beyond the clothes, it was his last, and his absence at the finale made the applause stretch even longer, as though the audience wanted to hold on to him for just a little more time.

Titled Ritorni (“Returns”), the collection captured that dreamy moment after a holiday when you’re back home but not quite grounded yet, still carrying fragments of warmth and wonder. It began with sandy neutrals and soft metallics, like grains of sunlit sand, and slowly bloomed into color. By the end, sequined harem pants, pastel silks, and sheer dresses shimmered like fireworks, bringing a gentle joy to the runway.

Travel was a clear thread throughout: ikat prints, obi-style fastenings, raffia details, and fluid robes that seemed to drift between cultures. Shapes were relaxed but precise, with robe coats, wide trousers, scooter skirts, and light jackets that felt made for motion. Even the shoes—flat, grounded, empowering—spoke of Armani’s enduring belief in ease and elegance.

It wasn’t just a collection, it was a farewell letter we did not plan for.
