An Erdem collection somehow always feels like home, and this one was no different. Prints and colors bloomed across the runway in a way that instantly reminded me why Erdem remains one of my London Fashion Week favorites. This season, Erdem Moralioglu took inspiration from Hélène Smith, the late 19th-century medium who claimed past lives as Marie Antoinette, an Indian princess, and even a Martian traveler. That mix of surrealism and history set the stage for a collection that was both otherworldly and grounded in the house’s signature romanticism.
Lace corseted dresses with hip cages, embroidered coats, and sari-inspired gowns created a dreamscape of eras colliding, while bursts of neon pink and green kept the mood alive and modern. There was a touch of whimsy too—plastic-like overlays recalling bouquet wrapping, Martian alphabet motifs, and delicate embroideries that seemed to whisper secrets from another world. Still, everything was anchored in Erdem’s sharp craftsmanship, never tipping into chaos despite the wildness of the references.
What struck me most was how wearable so much of it felt, even when steeped in fantasy. Satin trenches shimmered like eveningwear, and fluid silhouettes floated with ease. It’s a reminder that Erdem’s world is one of layered storytelling, but also one that women can truly live in. This collection, with its blend of the surreal and the romantic, felt like a beautiful continuation of why Erdem has become such a touchstone in London fashion.
