Joseph Altuzarra has always had a way of making clothes that feel both modern and timeless, and his Spring 2026 collection was no exception. At first glance, the pieces looked understated and minimal, but the closer you looked, the more the details revealed themselves. Florals weren’t just prints, they were appliquéd in three dimensions; a stole wasn’t a stole at all, but a surreal illustration of bird wings draped around the neckline. It was a collection about tricking the eye, playing with perception, and finding beauty in that tension.

Altuzarra cited the influence of AI and our current hyper-reality, where what’s real and what’s artificial often blurs. But instead of leaning into technology, he explored the uncanny through craftsmanship. Feather-like fringe, mink-looking shearling, and airy chiffon brought texture and tactility that couldn’t be faked. Even the balloon trousers, already trending elsewhere, felt distinctly his, grounded in soft tailoring and precise construction.

What made the collection so striking was how balanced it felt. From far away, the clothes were clean and easy to take in, but up close they were deeply intricate — garments you’d want to touch, study, and wear. There was no overcomplication, just thoughtful design. Altuzarra called it an exploration of surrealism, but really, it was a reminder of why his clothes resonate: they’re beautiful, wearable, and made with a level of care that feels rare.
