If there’s one word that sums up this collection, it’s dreamy. Right before unveiling the collection, he was named an Officier de l’Ordre des Arts et des Lettres (a major French cultural honor), and the mood was nothing short of joyful.
Instead of a traditional runway show, Valli displayed his creations on mannequins so guests could really take in every detail. And honestly, it was worth the pause. The pieces were full of what Valli does best—romance, elegance, and those floaty, feminine shapes that feel like a breath of fresh air. There were layers of soft tulle, delicate pleats, and floral touches so intricate they looked like they were plucked straight from a garden. One bodice had tiny flowers that looked like feathers—but surprise, it was actually silk organza.
The colors were soft and “yummy”—peach, periwinkle, rose, apricot—like the prettiest scoop of gelato. There was something summery and fresh about the whole collection, but also timeless. It had all the classic Valli elements, but felt more youthful than usual, in the best way. Valli’s references to rococo painters like Fragonard and Watteau were clear—you could feel the whimsy and lightness in the fabrics, the silhouettes, even the movement of the skirts.
Valli described the vibe as “nymphs and muses,” and honestly, that’s exactly what it felt like. The dresses weren’t just beautiful—they were the kind of pieces that transport you. Couture that doesn’t shout, but softly says everything. And paired with the honor he received, this night felt like a full-circle moment for Valli—one where art, fashion, and joy came together perfectly.
