This was the house’s final bow before Matthieu Blazy steps in as creative director. Held in the Grand Palais’s Salon d’Honneur, the show was a return to elegance and intimacy, paying homage to the brand’s storied.
With white carpet underfoot, mirrored walls, and beige banquettes, the space recreated the original salons of 31 rue Cambon. The collection leaned into that same spirit of restraint and reverence. Designed by the in-house team, it drew from Coco Chanel’s love of the Scottish Highlands. Think chunky knits, long-line tweed coats, and capes edged in feathery fringe. The palette was rich and earthy—ivory, deep green, dark plum, and flashes of burnished gold. It wasn’t flashy, but it was deeply textured, showing off the meticulous craftsmanship of Chanel’s ateliers.
Wheat ears, one of Coco’s favorite symbols, showed up embroidered on dresses, embossed on buttons, and carried in the hands of the finale bride. Tweed was everywhere, but reimagined—layered with feathers, brushed to look like fur, or paired with mohair and chiffon for unexpected softness. Light chiffon blouses, shredded tulle skirts, and intricate lace underpinnings offered contrast to the heavy outerwear.
Still, without a singular designer’s vision guiding the collection, it occasionally felt like a beautifully curated exhibition rather than a story. The show closed with a nod to tradition—a bride in billowy tulle, holding a single stalk of wheat. It was a fitting end to this in-between moment. Blazy’s debut is just around the corner, and all eyes are on what comes next.
