The collection stayed true to Yamamoto’s signature deconstruction, blending classic silhouettes with unexpected twists. From oversized chimney-neck sweaters to slick leather jackets, each piece was reimagined through subtle but intricate manipulations—metal rings, snaps, and lacing transformed layers without adding bulk.

Purple popped up in strapped boots and geometric embellishments, breaking the monotony of Yamamoto’s beloved noir. These hints of colour injected just enough surprise into the otherwise dark palette.

Standout pieces included high-low skirts fashioned from pinstriped trousers and sheer turtlenecks paired with flowy leather jackets. Some coats looked like walking abstract art, with squiggly cords and geometric shapes creating dynamic movement. Others used patch-worked corsets, not to cinch but to bring the fabric closer to the body—a quiet nod to intimacy and connection.

The colour purple stole the spotlight this season. The finale, where models paired up to flip their coats inside out, revealing vibrant purple linings, was a poetic close.  Rich, quilted linings flipped out from black coats in the finale, adding a nostalgic 90s touch that felt both moody. It felt like a metaphor for Yamamoto’s eternal exploration of what lies beneath the surface. Even at 81, his creative spark shows no signs of dimming. There was no grand showmanship, just a quiet reminder that fashion, like life, is about constant reinvention.

This was a strong, emotionally charged collection with several must-have staples—perfect for anyone who appreciates the beauty of deconstruction paired with timeless elegance.
