Known for his dramatic, almost theatrical shows, Owens took a more grounded approach this season—well, as grounded as he can be. Instead of his usual over-the-top spectacle, the designer opted for something more wearable, but still unmistakably Rick. While this was nothing we haven’t seen before, it was a refined take on his signature aesthetic.
Inspired by his time spent in Concordia, Italy, where his factory is based, Owens stripped things down—kind of. Leather bombers with exaggerated shoulders, wool coats with industrial zippers, and belted jackets in muted tones all nodded to a more utilitarian, almost practical side of his aesthetic. But let’s not get ahead of ourselves—this is still Rick Owens we’re talking about. His signature sense of exaggeration was present in sculptural rubber tops, chaps layered over laser-cut fringe shorts, and floor-length felt gowns with a slightly sinister edge.
One of the most talked-about elements? The blackout contact lenses worn by every model. Owens compared them to red lipstick—his own version of a bold statement piece. Whether they read as eerie or oddly romantic, they added an otherworldly touch to an otherwise more grounded collection.
Accessories played into this theme of travel and utility, including his latest collaboration with Rimowa, a bronzed carry-on lined in black leather. Oversized leather boots with intricate fringe details, created in partnership with Victor Clavelly, also striking!
