Nicolas Ghesquière has always been fascinated by the idea of time—how fashion from different eras can merge, how the past informs the future, and how history never really disappears. The collection felt like a meeting of different time periods, where 18th-century corsetry, Victorian silhouettes, and futuristic materials all coexisted.
Outerwear took center stage, proving once again that Ghesquière knows how to design a great coat. There were sculptural jackets with defined shoulders, some structured and rigid, others relaxed with cinched waists. A standout brocade coat mixed historical opulence with modern precision, while high-shine metallic trenches added a futuristic edge.
Dresses and separates followed the same theme. Flowing gowns were layered under sharply tailored blazers, corseted tops were paired with loose, slouchy trousers, and structured skirts were softened with delicate, semi-sheer fabrics. The collection played with texture—plush velvets, glossy leathers, and intricate embroidery contrasted with sleek, minimalistic silhouettes.
The handbags had a vintage-meets-space-age feel, with chunky hardware and glossy finishes. The boots? Sleek, knee-high, and ready for adventure.
Despite all these different influences, the collection felt wearable. Yes, the shapes were strong and the details intricate, but everything had an ease to it.
