Easily one of the most fun and unforgettable of the season. It was wild, weird, kitschy, and full of outrageous fits that made me stop and stare.

Lantink’s signature warped silhouettes were back in full force, pushing the boundaries of what fashion can be. Shoulders extended past the ears, hips jutted out at unexpected angles, and skirts seemed to hover mid-air thanks to clever metal band constructions. His fascination with body modification took on new life with exaggerated padding, floating garments, and, yes, assless jeans.

Backstage, he spoke about cosplay, freedom, and rejecting the rules. It was evident in every look, from the sculptural trousers that stuck out at the waist to a final moment that had everyone talking—Chandler Frye in a latex breastplate featuring oversized, bouncing breasts. A joke? A statement? A commentary on gender? Whatever it was, it made an impact.

The setting—a Paris office mid-renovation—was just as unconventional. Employees shuffled papers while wearing headsets, their conversations picked up by microphones, providing a bizarre yet oddly fitting backdrop. In this mundane setting, Lantink’s surreal, exaggerated creations looked even more rebellious.

“Bad taste” was a theme, too, with loud animal prints and clashing camo patterns mixed with classic plaids and a reworked Barbour jacket that showcased his ability to make avant-garde wearable. The balance between drama and practicality hinted at a designer evolving, perhaps even preparing for something bigger—like the rumored Jean Paul Gaultier CD role.

The whole show was a breath of fresh air in a season that desperately needed one.
