This Chanel show was a love letter to the house’s most iconic motifs. As we await Matthieu Blazy’s debut as creative director, the in-house Studio delivered a lineup that honored Coco Chanel’s legacy beautifully.

The show’s invitation hinted at what was to come: a black bow and the words, “Tied, loose or floating in the wind, the Chanel ribbon sets an allure in motion.” True to that message, bows were everywhere—on blouses, dresses, jackets, and even accessories. Some were oversized and theatrical, while others were subtle nods, adding a touch of romance to structured tailoring.

Speaking of tailoring, Chanel’s classic tweed suits were reimagined with sheer tulle overlays, adding a layer of delicacy to their sharp silhouettes. A standout look featured a white tweed suit enveloped in black organza, giving a fresh take on the sheer trend. The collection played with proportion, mixing cropped jackets with flowing skirts and exaggerated puffed sleeves. There was a sense of movement, lightness, and contrast—hard and soft, structured and fluid.

Beyond bows and tweed, pearls made a statement in ways both expected and delightfully unexpected. Chanel’s signature pearl necklaces were stacked high, draped over shoulders, and even transformed into handbags.  Even the shoes paid homage, with ankle boots featuring pearl-embedded heels. Outerwear also had its moment, with glossy patent trench coats, oversized puffer jackets cinched with velvet bows, and fur-lined styles adorned with camellia appliqués.

For now, the Chanel Creative Studio has given us a final moment of nostalgia before the maison embarks on its next chapter.

The most striking? A crossbody bag designed to look like a giant string of pearls—arguably the season’s most covetable accessory. And if these pearl bags are any indication, Chanel is poised to spark another must-have trend—just like Karl Lagerfeld did time and time again.
