Daniel Lee understood the assignment. Burberry is about outerwear, heritage, and weather-ready fashion, and that’s exactly what he delivered here. This season, Lee stripped away the experimental hues and prints from past collections and doubled down on what Burberry does best—statement coats, timeless checks, and a wardrobe built for the elements.

Held at the Tate Britain, the show transformed the space into a countryside escape, complete with draped fabrics and plush seating. It was a fitting setting for a collection inspired by the interiors of grand English country homes. Tapestry prints, jacquard fabrics, and velvet suits took cues from antique wallpapers and upholstery, giving Burberry’s outerwear a regal, lived-in charm.

Models wore an array of trenches, oversized parkas, and wool coats in earthy shades of brown, green, and burgundy. Accessories played a key role too, with oversized scarves, checked weekend bags, and leather riding boots completing the looks. Lee’s attention to craftsmanship was evident. A long brown plaid overcoat, cinched at the waist, felt effortlessly elegant, while a deep olive double-breasted trench on Jason Isaacs balanced function and style. There were quilted jackets with floral prints, velvet suits adorned with intricate patterns, and knitwear featuring medieval-inspired imagery. It was a fusion of tradition and modernity, offering pieces that felt both nostalgic and fresh.

Of course, Burberry’s iconic trench was the star. This season, it came in embossed leather, jacquard weaves with long fringe, and even a floral ikat-esque print. The collection was packed with outerwear that felt wearable yet elevated—coats thrown over the shoulders, capes with shearling trims, and cropped leather trench jackets with delicate florals. The idea was clear: these were clothes designed for both the runway and real life.

Lee’s Burberry is finding its rhythm, balancing heritage with contemporary relevance. With London Fashion Week often overshadowed by Paris and Milan, this collection proved that Burberry still has a strong voice in the luxury landscape and made LFW relevant this season. Burberry is weathering the storm, and under Lee’s direction, it might just be stronger than ever.
