Lorenzo Serafini’s debut at Alberta Ferretti felt like a love letter to femininity—soft, romantic, yet utterly luxe. With “Progressive Romantics,” he embraced Ferretti’s signature elegance while infusing his own modern sensibility. The result? A collection that felt both deeply rooted and refreshingly new.
Held at the historic Palazzo Donizetti, the show was an intimate yet grand affair, perfectly mirroring the mood of the collection. Serafini played with contrast—floaty chiffon gowns balanced by structured cashmere coats, delicate floral motifs juxtaposed with sharp tailoring. The silhouettes felt effortless, like a whisper of old-world glamour with a contemporary edge.
The sheer dresses with sequined torsos? Perhaps a bit awkward, but ultimately forgettable amidst the beauty of the rest. The colour palette was a dream—soft pinks, deep blues, and rich earth tones woven seamlessly into fluid designs. Details like resin cameo buttons and hand-pleated fabrics added a handcrafted, almost poetic touch.
Serafini succeeded in capturing the essence of Ferretti’s romanticism without falling into nostalgia. Instead, he offered a vision of femininity that is confident, sensual, and undeniably glamorous. A strong, promising start—one that makes you excited for what’s next.
