Francesco Risso has a way of turning fashion shows into experiences, and this collection, “The Pink Sun,” was no exception. Held in an intimate cabaret-style setting, the show blurred the lines between performance, art, and fashion.
The result was a collection that felt deeply personal and joyfully unrestrained. Risso’s signature playful eccentricity was on full display, with high-volume silhouettes, rich textures, and an explosion of color. Crombie coats took on cocoon-like shapes, sheath dresses unfolded into pleated skirts with unexpected movement, and sheepskin collars added an extra dose of drama to structured blousons. The mix of textures was striking—delicate georgette sat alongside fuzzy mohair, while sleek satin was sculpted into stunning siren gowns in glowing jewel tones.
Outerwear made a bold statement, from oversized, fur-trimmed coats with exaggerated proportions to tailored blazers adorned with Slawn’s distinctive spray-painted faces. A standout scarlet pantsuit was wrapped in shimmering black sequins forming a wolf motif, adding a surreal, almost mystical touch. Pyramid-cut skirts in glossy mock croc were layered under cropped jackets, while opera coats in vivid hues featured sculptural appliquéd florals that felt both dramatic and elegant.
Dresses ranged from sinuous, body-skimming gowns to voluminous pieces bursting with pleats and folds. A striking asymmetrical dress in canary yellow featured a cascading fur trim, while another in deep burgundy was cinched with a twisted silk sash, evoking a deconstructed yet refined aesthetic. Playful tulip motifs appeared on sharply tailored suits, while patchwork silk dresses in acid green, faded purple, and rich blue moved fluidly down the runway.
In an industry that often leans into safe, commercial choices, Risso doubled down on fantasy, proving that fashion can still be a playground for maximalist imagination.
