This collection was all about contrasts—tough and tender, past and present, structured and unruly. Inspired by the classic fable “The Tortoise and the Hare,” Rocha took a nostalgic journey through childhood memories, reinterpreting school uniforms, teenage rebellion, and dreamy romance with her signature whimsy.

Rocha’s collection played with archetypes and stereotypes, blending them into something entirely her own. Biker jackets met delicate faux-fur stoles, while preppy rugby shirts were softened with ruffles and intricate beading. The contrast between strength and fragility was a running theme. For instance, Alexa Chung, a longtime muse of Rocha’s, walked the runway in a perfectly cut leather jacket layered over a faux-fur bandeau and a slit skirt—a balance of toughness and femininity that encapsulated the collection’s spirit.

One of Rocha’s signature design techniques is deconstruction, and this season was no exception. Faux-fur coats were sliced into strips, revealing movement and texture in unexpected ways. Silk ribbon dresses, carefully shredded and reassembled with delicate ties, felt both chaotic and poetic. There was an underlying message here—about resilience, about piecing oneself back together, about beauty in imperfection.

Accessories told their own story, adding an element of playfulness to the collection. Stuffed hares were draped over shoulders like handbags, while pearl-encrusted tortoise clutches embodied the collection’s slow-and-steady philosophy. These details weren’t just embellishments; they were integral to Rocha’s storytelling, reinforcing the balance between innocence and experience.

Menswear continued to evolve in Rocha’s world, with belted trench coats, pleated shorts, and bejeweled socks offering a subversive take on traditional masculinity. The juxtaposition of rugged and refined extended to all elements of the collection, proving Rocha’s ability to blur boundaries with ease.

With gilded mirrors, candlelit chandeliers, and historic portraits lining the space, the atmosphere felt as if past and present were colliding—just as they did in the collection itself. Fiona Shaw, a vision in a black satin egg dress cinched with bicycle-lock chains, perfectly embodied Rocha’s world of restrained elegance.

Rocha’s steady climb over the past 15 years has been nothing short of remarkable. While others may rush ahead, chasing trends, she continues to move at her own pace—slow, steady, and undeniably strong.
