This collection took inspiration from Hitchcock’s The Birds, but rather than simply reworking Tippi Hedren’s iconic green suit, she cast a wider net. The collection honored not just the film but also the women who shaped it—costume designer Edith Head and writer Daphne du Maurier.

There were precise monochromatic ensembles, tailored coats, and sleek gowns that nodded to the ‘60s but felt modern. A standout detail was the clash of jarring colors against muted tones—bold reds peeking out from subdued grays, adding a sense of tension.

Still, the collection felt a bit underwhelming compared to Wickstead’s past shows. Gone were the soft pastels and delicate romanticism that made her previous work so effortlessly beautiful. Instead, she leaned into a darker, more rigid aesthetic, with mock-croc coats, pointed bras under knitwear, and asymmetric collars.

That said, there were glimmers of Wickstead’s signature femininity. Floral-printed mini dresses and dreamy gowns toward the end reintroduced a touch of softness. A silver enamel floral gown, in particular, added a surreal, almost ghostly effect.
