Inspired by Monica Bonvicini’s leather belt art, Shui transformed pleather into laser-cut fringes and draped elements that flowed beautifully down the runway. Her signature blend of Chinese and Western influences was ever-present, with Qi Pao collars, faux-fur cowboy hats, and intricate frog button details symbolising prosperity. The serpentine motifs—a nod to the Chinese zodiac—symbolised renewal and added deeper cultural meaning to the collection.
Shui’s exploration of sensuality and restraint came through loud and clear. This season’s pieces had a more structured, reliable fit compared to past seasons, balancing sexy silhouettes with practicality. Accessories stole the spotlight, too, with bra-inspired bags, bolo ties, and the cheeky “butt bag” all adding playful, rebellious touches.
The collection’s colour palette of deep greens, rich reds, browns, and blacks with pops of white brought a dramatic yet cohesive feel to the show. From oversized fur coats to structured snake-print pants, Shui’s designs blurred the lines between femininity and masculinity, creating fresh impactful pieces.
