Taking inspiration from David Lynch and the refined elegance of Merchant Ivory films, Holstein created a collection that was both dramatic and wearable—an intersection she has mastered over the years.
The show took place at the Park Avenue Armory on a circular golden runway, a nod to The Wizard of Oz, Lynch’s favorite film. The setting felt grand, a reflection of Holstein’s ambition and the ever-expanding world of Khaite. The clothes, however, balanced this grandeur with a grounded sense of practicality. Slouchy dark-rinse jeans paired effortlessly with deconstructed corsets, while oversized leather jackets softened with fur trim struck the perfect contrast between edge and romance. Holstein’s accessories remain a major draw. Over-the-knee boots, top-handle bags, and opera gloves added polish to the looks.
Khaite has long been the gold standard of New York Fashion Week, and this season proved why. Holstein understands how women want to dress in real life—powerful, confident, and slightly undone. Whether it was a structured shrug over a pencil skirt or a draped dress layered with opera gloves, every look felt intentional yet effortless.
One of the standout elements of the collection was its textures. Plush furs, buttery leathers, and distressed silks gave the pieces depth and a sense of lived-in luxury.
