The show’s setting, surrounded by artwork from women cartoonists and manga artists, was a powerful backdrop. The clothes embodied a sense of strength and defiance while maintaining a playful, wearable edge. Tailoring took center stage, with sharply constructed coats, oversized jackets, and cropped pants that had a raw, screen-printed finish. This deliberate nod to imperfection gave the garments an approachable, almost DIY quality, as if inviting wearers to take charge of their style.

Outerwear dominated the runway. Big overcoats with pushed-up sleeves exuded a cool, nonchalant vibe, while plastic raincoats offered a modern twist on Prada’s classic black nylon staples. These were not just functional pieces but bold statements, balancing practicality with artistic flair. Sleeveless blazers and jackets added an unexpected edge, underscoring the collection’s rebellious undertone.

The styling leaned heavily into retro-inspired motifs, reimagined through Prada’s distinctive lens. Animal prints—zebra stripes and leopard spots—appeared in unexpected combinations, creating a vibrant New Wave energy. Accessories played a key role in reinforcing the look, with kitten-heel slingbacks, pointy studded brogues, and quirky printed knee socks adding personality and depth.

One of the most striking aspects was the collection’s layering. Silk tea dresses were paired with oversized work shirts, paint-splattered trench coats came in crisp linen, and tailored shorts were juxtaposed with embellished tops. The interplay of masculine and feminine elements created a dynamic narrative, underscoring the versatility of these pieces.

Prada’s vision is clear: women need to stand tall against the forces that threaten their progress, and fashion, in its own way, can be part of that fight. This collection was less about escapism and more about confrontation.
