The collection felt fresh, playful, and full of bold ideas, blending retro inspirations with futuristic elements. The design team, led by Fabio Zambernardi, maintained the brand’s core identity while adding their own interpretation. The result was a show full of statement-making pieces, from metallic snakeskin coats to organza suits adorned with oversized paillette flowers.
One of the standout features was the use of sheer fabrics, which gave the clothes an almost ethereal quality. There was a cool tension between structure and fluidity, especially with pieces like skirts layered over skirts, challenging our traditional notions of what a classic silhouette should be. Miuccia has a knack for reinterpreting familiar fashion codes, pushing boundaries without losing the essence of her distinctive style.
The use of stripes, often seen as a fashion cliché, was elevated in this collection. Prada subverted the pattern with innovative textures like fur and translucent materials, incorporating layers of sheer transparency that gave the stripes a new life. The precision in these designs was remarkable, reminiscent of constructivism and geometric art, where colors and shapes were carefully considered to create a cohesive whole.
Accessories played a major role, with metallic boots, ankle-wrap flats, and statement collars adding to the collection’s overall impact. Earrings, often large and round like disco balls, added an extra layer of fun to each look. These quirky details made the collection feel both avant-garde and playful, capturing the spirit of the Prada woman—confident, stylish, and never afraid to stand out.
The collection was a true celebration of contrasts, from the linear patterns on jackets and coats to the floating, paillettes-covered dresses that shimmered with movement. There was a clear nod to the 1970s, yet it felt distinctly modern with futuristic accessories and beauty looks, including bold gold lipstick and slicked-back hair.
