This collection attempts to channel Indian inspiration but does so with an understated and Eurocentric approach. The use of metallics, paisley prints, and daring necklines stood out, but the cultural references felt mild and lacked depth. As an Indian viewer, the collection didn’t immediately evoke a sense of thoughtful homage—it could easily be mistaken for something decades old. This highlights a common critique: many European designers struggle to honor global cultures authentically. That said, the collection wasn’t without merit. The plunging necklines were bold and eye-catching, and a few pieces showcased refined tailoring. For red-carpet events, expect the usual drama with Valentino’s elegance. Some skirt suits and Nehru-style coats offered a modern twist, blending classic tailoring with subtle draping and delicate details like beaded chiffon.
