The show, titled “Babel,” took place at the Palais de Tokyo, where a massive flaming pyre captivated the audience. This fiery centerpiece symbolized themes of hope and destruction, echoing the collection’s exploration of contrasts in life.

Owens drew inspiration from the Tower of Babel and a constructivist tower designed by Russian architect Vladimir Tatlin. These influences were evident not only in the set design but also in the clothing itself. Models walked the runway in cage-like dresses and flowing robes that conjured images of witches and high priestesses. The garments featured intricate details like “shredded brutalist lace,” which added a unique texture to the pieces.

The color palette was predominantly muted, with shades of black, grey, olive green, pale red, and off-white dominating the collection. This choice reflected Owens’ signature style, which often melds minimalism with a touch of darkness. Footwear played a significant role as well, with chunky hiking boots designed in collaboration with Birkenstock complementing the outfits.

Owens described his collection as suitable for a coven of witches seeking order amidst chaos. This playful yet serious approach to fashion invites wearers to embrace their individuality while navigating a complex world. The collection’s recurring motifs of destruction—like blackened American flags—served as poignant reminders of societal issues.
