The atmosphere was intense, with models wearing caged ski masks that gave a sense of mystery and high concept. These masks were described as “brutalist veils,” yet they were softened by the classically beautiful makeup—pale skin and bold red lips—adding a touch of elegance. The collection itself, though, defied expectations. Despite the brutalist influences Owens mentioned, like the fire backdrop and the intense soundtrack, the clothes were unexpectedly lyrical. There was a sense of quiet beauty, with flowing dresses in soft fabrics like pilled chiffon, reminding some of Marlene Dietrich’s iconic gowns.

Owens embraced softer shapes, creating relaxed silhouettes in gray and tan hues, with elements like drop-crotch shorts that somehow felt both cool and refined. The outerwear was especially striking—fitted coats and cropped leather jackets paired with dramatic shearling collars added depth to the collection.

What really captivated was the contrast between the harsh, architectural influences and the gentle, romantic elements of the designs. Owens’ work is always a little mysterious, and that’s what makes it so fascinating. His ability to mix high concepts with simple, wearable designs is what makes this collection one of his best.
