Olivier Rousteing’s debut couture show for Balmain was nothing short of theatrical. Hosted in the soon-to-open Rue Saint-Honoré flagship, the collection leaned into exaggerated shapes and daring designs, paying homage to Pierre Balmain with a touch of Eighties flair. There were geometric silhouettes, pearl-covered garments, and playful pastel tones mixed with ripped denim.

While some pieces were stunning—like a feather-covered top and pants—others veered into the surreal, such as bulbous skirts and balloon corsets. The craftsmanship was impeccable, with intricate beadwork and metallic details. Yet, some looks felt more experimental than wearable.
