Inspired by his Sicilian hometown, Messina, the designer has infused the collection with a sense of place and history. The show opened with a series of all-white looks, reminiscent of the city’s whitewashed houses, before transitioning to a vibrant palette inspired by the sea and sun.
The show began with a series of minimalist, all-white looks, inspired by Messina’s architecture and the Mediterranean coastline. These pieces, featuring clean lines, rope details, and cut-outs, exuded an effortless, beachy vibe, perfect for summer escapes.
As the collection progressed, vibrant photo prints of sunsets and ocean waves added depth and color, creating a dynamic shift in mood. These prints adorned dresses, trousers, and pajama sets, blending casual elegance with Cavalli’s signature sensuality. Notably, Puglisi’s designs focused on comfort and ease, offering a more relaxed take on the brand’s traditionally bold aesthetic. The mermaid-like gowns that closed the show were a standout, shimmering with sequins and embodying both glam and wearability.
Puglisi has successfully modernized the Cavalli brand, balancing the iconic sex appeal with a more relaxed, contemporary aesthetic. The collection features a mix of beachy, casual pieces and glamorous evening gowns. The highlight of the show was a tribute to Roberto Cavalli, featuring a parade of supermodels in archival Cavalli dresses. While the collection is a departure from the house founder’s more flamboyant style, it remains true to the brand’s core values.
