Julien Dossena’s vision for Rabanne continues to evolve, and this collection is a testament to that. This season, the focus lies on a captivating contrast: transforming the ordinary into the extraordinary.

The show opened with a bang, featuring Gigi Hadid in a playful striped ensemble paired with unique plastic-encased pumps. This set the stage for a collection that embraced unexpected pairings. We saw everyday staples like striped shirts and boxer shorts elevated with silver leaf embellishments and transformed into utility skirts and unexpected tops. With a nod to the brand’s storied past, the collection introduces the Artisan Editions, reinventing the iconic 1969 assemblage bags through collaborations with artisans in medal-making, ceramics, and blown glass. The runway was a striking visual narrative, featuring layered ensembles where jackets hugged half-buttoned shirts, paired with boxer shorts or mini skirts, all exuding a playful yet structured silhouette.

Dossena masterfully balanced Rabanne’s heritage with a contemporary edge. Signature metallic pieces and floral prints on netting stood alongside casual hoodies and pastel knits. A striking black leather jacket with a contrasting red hoodie perfectly embodied this fusion of past and present. The show’s pièce de résistance was a breathtaking mini dress adorned with gold leaf, delicately shedding its embellishments as the model moved. The color palette, reminiscent of pastel confections, expertly walks the line between clinical and romantic, while the eclectic mix of hard and soft elements speaks to modern femininity.

The collection wasn’t just about aesthetics; it played with textures and silhouettes. Structured blazers gave way to fluid forms, and lingerie-inspired pieces whispered against the skin.

Rabanne’s penchant for the avant-garde was evident in pieces like foiled guipure lace that shimmered under the runway lights. Pushing boundaries further, the collection unveiled the “most expensive bag in the world” – a handcrafted masterpiece in 18-karat gold and diamonds. This collection is a vibrant testament to Rabanne’s legacy, showcasing Dossena’s evolving vision that invites the contemporary woman to embrace both the mundane and the magnificent in her wardrobe.
