Dries Van Noten’s departure from the runway left a void in the fashion world, but his legacy lives on through his eponymous label. Presented in a raw, industrial space in Paris, the in-house design team skillfully honored Van Noten’s signature elements—bold prints, intricate embroidery, and unexpected layering—with a fresh perspective.
The collection unfolded with a balance of familiar and new. The vibrant mix of prints—ranging from pastel florals to earthy paisleys—reminded onlookers of Van Noten’s mastery of pattern play, while bold proportions in suiting, with exaggerated shoulders and cinched waists, added some energy. Notably, Jacquard fabrics took on new life, crinkled and crushed to catch the light in captivating ways, giving the collection a tactile richness. Lingerie elements, like lace bralettes peeking from under structured blazers and silky slip dresses, were woven into the lineup, offering a soft contrast to masculine pinstripes and laser-treated denim.
Despite the designer’s absence, the collection stayed true to the house’s DNA. The design team showed they understood Van Noten’s vision, delivering a collection that felt like a celebration of his work, while signaling a new chapter for the brand.
