Catherine Holstein’s collection for Khaite represents an evolution in her aesthetic, softening her signature dark, edgy designs with a new warmth inspired by her experience of motherhood. The collection maintained the grit Khaite is known for, yet introduced a sense of fluidity and comfort, seen in sheer organza pants and scarf-like dresses. These elements brought a refreshing lightness, contrasting with structured jackets and oversized silhouettes, showing a creative tension between softness and strength. Holstein also incorporated artisanal details like handcrafted crochet pieces, adding texture and richness. However, the collection felt somewhat fragmented at times, oscillating between the light and the dark, the soft and the structured. The soulful atmosphere of the show and the emotional depth of the pieces reinforced Holstein’s shift toward a more evolving vision for Khaite’s future.
