At first glance, it appeared straightforward—minimalist silhouettes, micro hemlines, and a limited fabric palette of cashmere, leather, silk, and sequins. But with Anderson, nothing is as it seems. A sweatshirt is actually a silk dress, a pair of boots transforms into a rebellious style statement, and a classic sweater dress becomes an avant-garde architectural masterpiece. Minimal silhouettes, including micro-mini hemlines and leather tutu-dresses, dominated the runway, offering a youthful, edgy aesthetic. Anderson’s signature trompe l’oeil techniques adding a clever twist to familiar wardrobe staples. Artistic references, such as text from Clive Bell’s essay on art and aesthetics, further underscored the collection’s thoughtful design process. However, there is a newfound sobriety that reflects the designer’s concerns about the industry as a whole. His emphasis on “narrowing things” and “refocusing” suggests a desire for a more intentional and meaningful approach to fashion. While the collection may seem understated, it is anything but.
