Drawing inspiration from Wong Kar Wai’s film The Hand.Huishan Zhang revisits the cheongsam silhouette, integrating high necklines and capped sleeves with contemporary tailoring techniques, offering a wardrobe that spans both day and evening wear. Zhang’s designs showcase a masterful use of color, texture, and tailoring. Vivid hues, intricate beadwork, and sculptural silhouettes create a visually striking collection. The integration of rich fabrics like scuba and silk adds depth and luxury to the pieces.  Zhang’s innovative use of fabrics, including printed plastic threaded with organza, marks a departure from his signature embellishments, providing new textural depth to his designs. Tailored pieces, such as Italian wool jackets and angular neoprene skirts, stand out for their structured yet sensual appeal. The collection’s cinematic influences are most apparent in the finale look, a royal blue dress inspired by Wong’s film, showcasing Zhang’s ability to merge fashion with narrative. Held in a venue reminiscent of Wong’s iconic settings, the collection offers a sophisticated fusion of East and West, demonstrating Zhang’s craftsmanship.
