Erdem unveiled at the British Museum, draws inspiration from Radclyffe Hall’s 1928 novel, The Well of Loneliness, a seminal work in LGBTQIA+ literature. Moralıoğlu explores the fluidity of gender identity through a juxtaposition of masculine and feminine silhouettes. Tailored suits, crafted in collaboration with Savile Row tailors, were paired with 1920s-inspired drop-waisted dresses, creating a seamless blend of sharp tailoring and soft romanticism. The collection also introduced Erdem’s first handbag, the Bloom bag, featuring a flower-bud-shaped handle that echoed the botanical motifs throughout the show.

The influence of Art Nouveau is evident in the intricate floral designs and ornate embellishments that adorned many of the pieces, including textured satin dresses and hand-draped cocktail gowns. The use of cyanotype florals and carnation motifs added depth and dimension, creating a captivating visual narrative. The designer also paid homage to Hall’s personal style, with menswear-inspired cardigans and blazers layered over feminine tea dresses, blurring the lines between traditional gender norms.

Through a balance of historical references, the collection offers a thoughtful exploration of beauty, individuality, and self-expression.
